I'm Sorry

I've received numerous complaints of late, and rightly so. I haven't updated this blog for.. 117 days.
Now that I haven't posted something for so long, I feel like this next post has to be something exceptional. However, there isn't much exceptional going on in my brain at the moment. To be fair, there isn't much of anything going on in my brain at the moment other than an overwhelming desire to go microwave some smiley faces.

This is because last night was a very, very messy night, one that I am still suffering from now. As many witnesses from last night, the wee hours of this morning, and the early afternoon of today will tell you. Me and my new good friend Alex (whom I met at La Tasca, where I now work) went for cheeky cocktails at Vodka Revolution by Stamford Brook as soon as I finished my shift at around 5.30.
Big Mistake.

Alex has told me many many stories of her heavy-weight skills when it comes to alcohol, and I've told her many stories of my light-weight skills when it comes to alcohol, so once we'd both had a couple of happy hour cocktails in us, it seemed like a wonderful idea to do "traffic light" shots to "train" me up.

Once I'd downed my shots and realised what a horrible mistake it was, we met Tommy, Alexia, Will, Max and Chris in the Bull at Westfields for more cheeky drinks, and after letting Alex buy me wine, I realised what a horrible mistake that was as well. After that, I dragged Alex and Will all over W3 and W4 until Alex went home, and after that I realised what a horrible mistake it was to go back to Acton in first place.

Me and Will then got lost trying to get to Fabric, but were eventually successful and got to the damned club, had tequila to top up and despite all my horrible mistakes of that night, I enjoyed finding a hazy new love for music I previously had only contempt for.

On my way home this afternoon (Will kindly offered to put me up at his, there was no way I was getting back across the Thames at 6.30 feeling as rough as I did) I met so many people, who laughed at me with my "blergh" face, manly croaky voice and skanky outfit. So today people, while I am updating this blog, there is nothing for me to update it with other than this entertaining but shameful story.
Tomorrow I'll attempt to post something vaguely intelligent about art.
I'm off to eat another 3 packets of microwave smiley faces.

"mm, mmm, not bad"

Last night was fun, but LONG. The night started at a ridunk 8.30 when we all met up to catch a 94. Like fools we bought our pre-drinks at BestOne, meaning we were all subject to a hundred million renditions of "hey beautiful, my future wiiiiives."
Eck.

It was okay though, when we arrived at yoyo we got in and because the band were still setting up we got a booth pretty quick. Other than the 10 minutes I spent inside my own head trying to figure out why I wasn't saying anything, the night moved smooth. The first dj played an interesting set.. It was like bad hip-hop with a few gems thrown in to get you (and trap you) on the dancefloor. I spent most of the night following kaysi's finger as she yelled "THERE'S M.I.A" and pointed, and I was all like "WHAT WHERE WHAT HOW WHAT WHERE?" until I finally saw her behind the dj booth with her hubby. and I was all like "ohh."

After yoyo we were going to go to kaysi's brother's house. I got out my trusty blackberry and punched in the address, and after us trekking through the wildnerness of ealing and possibly definitely waking up more than a few middle class families, we discovered that Kaysi's brother didn't live at 22 Goldsmith Avenue, he lived at 22 Goldsmith Road.

That's when the night ended and we dragged our sorry selves to a 266 bus stop and shouted everytime a fox crossed the road.

Here are a few shots from the night though..
Lack of film and money for film leads to a million blurry unidentifiable images on my phone.. these are the ones where you can kind of see what is going on.

mr mariel's moustache

Lately I've felt very adult, very grown up and responsible. That's not to say that I'm good at being grown up, mind, but I feel that I've been forced to mature quite a bit over the past few months. However, last night Kaysi took me and the girls to a house party with people from lush, and I've never felt younger.
While it was nice to chit chat with people quite a bit older than me, I had to skip friendly drunk and hit enthusiastic-about-everything drunk to not feel like I was the victim of paedophilic grooming for half the night..

I'd love to say it was an amazing night but I'm not sure it was.
I woke up on my living room sofa with gold dots all over my face and my NYC toursit glasses still tangled in my fro. I have a missed call from someone I've saved as "Welsh Minger From House Party" and a series of texts to friends about how I had found a stick-on moustache on the floor.

Either way, the night ended well, me not getting with the "welsh minger from house party" despite his persistence, Kaishia back on good form drinking £3.33 wine and Kaysi getting her fix (to the delight of us ALL) at 4am.

xx
